There is a level of excitement over the entire orphanage as children prepare to take a much anticipated bus trip to the ocean. None of them have ever seen the ocean, or have ridden all together in a bus. Amazingly, the cooks worked through the night to have lunch at the beach. With 5 to 8 children per seat, on laps, and standing in the isle, they sang, as we bounced, and weaved through the broken road… They sang so loud, every town we passed stood still to see and hear where all that holy ruckus was coming from. At the beach for the first time the children were dumb founded… “how is it so big?” one asked… “do they have an ocean this big in America?” asked another… Then, regardless of how amazed they were, something greater then the ocean took over… The unexplainable drive that causes all children to jump into the water. It was hilarious to see their reaction when… They realized ALL that water tastes TERRIBLE!!!

Once they settled down, I explained the difference between being sons of men verses being sons of G-d, and asked if any of the wanted to receive Yeshua and be mikvahed in water… 5 by 5 they came, holding tight to one another… Not a single one was left behind… Then with a relentless shout, they sang: “nou se timoun de Die!” (We are the children of G-d!) people on the beach gathered to see what this was all about… Too much to share.

Later, the joy of the children was taken in a sudden moment as a very intimidating UN gun helicopter thundered over as if to see what we all were doing there… It was so loud, we thought they were firing guns to disperse a crowd… Very sad…

We finally made it home, and the team was beat… We blessed them with the toys, gifts, and hand made dresses we had for them. It broke my heart to see how happy they were to receive little Dollar Tree toys that came from a nation where people pay to store all the things they can’t use, or fit in their attics :(…

One day to go…. We feel everyone’s prayers…
